Web Design and Development

Edinburgh, Scotland

Hello, my name is Marc Inglis and I am a freelance web designer and developer living in Edinburgh. I have recently graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a Bachelor's Degree in Web Design and Development and have worked a full-stack internship. During this time I have diversified my portfolio to touch on different elements of the web. This includes creating e-commerce websites, blogs, content management systems as well as maintaining and developing WordPress sites.

Web Design

Impressive web design is crucial to not only nailing your brand, but also engaging customers. If a website takes longer than a few seconds to load, users will simply go elsewhere. This is one of the key reasons I stay up to date with current web design trends: to make high performing platforms with sleek and modern aesthetics .

I use Photoshop for editing images and creating storyboards, Illustrator to create icons and graphics, CSS to style the page to your needs and I am capabale of creating animations if desired.

Web Development

One advantage of recently graduating University is being up to date with current technologies and frameworks being used all over the web. My personal preference is Python Flask which can make scalable webapps suitable to any needs.

I have also worked with WordPress, Joomla and Squarespace and understand and recognise their capabilities. While these tools are marketed as a DIY of Web Development, I can really take these systems and combine them with my programming skills to take them to the next level.

How can I help?

Owning a web site can really help boost a small company. Web presence is massive in today's world as it can help your business reach out and connect with new groups of people that you otherwise would of not had an opportunity to interact with.

This is where I come in! I will discuss your needs and break down the solution into tangible ideas, solving your web problems without overloading you with tech jargon.
